Bestwood Lodge Hotel - A historic country house hotel with parkland views, elegant dining, and versatile event spaces
Set within 300 hectares of Nottingham's parkland, Bestwood Lodge Hotel features en-suite rooms including doubles, twins, and four-poster options, with some offering views of Bestwood Country Park. The Parkside Restaurant serves seasonal dishes with a hand-painted gold-leaf ceiling and Gothic arches, while the Terrace Bar provides al fresco dining overlooking the park. Guests can access Nottingham city center in 20 minutes via the A60, with attractions like The Caves of Nottingham nearby. The hotel includes seven conference rooms, free Wi-Fi, and a secure car park, alongside facilities for weddings and private events in spaces like the Chapel Suite or Ballroom.
Pros
The Parkside Restaurant offers a hand-painted gold-leaf ceiling and seasonal menus with locally sourced ingredients.
The Terrace Bar provides outdoor seating with views of Bestwood Country Park.
Free secure parking and high-speed Wi-Fi are available throughout the property.
Multiple event spaces, including a licensed chapel and ballroom, accommodate weddings and conferences.
Cons
Some rooms may overlook parking areas rather than parkland.
The hotel's rural setting requires a short drive to reach Nottingham city center.
“What stands out is the staff's genuine warmth and helpfulness; it makes the building's few weathered edges fade into the background. I was also struck by the comfortable beds and the unexpected perk of a country park right outside. For a restful stay with solid food and friendly faces, this place delivers.”
